Unsuccessful people constantly lie to themselves-about their own lives. I once thought that people who were habitually dishonest couldn’t be successful. Sadly, I’ve learned better. It’s possible to succeed, at least financially, while being totally dishonest with others. But it is absolutely impossible for people to be dishonest with themselves-about where they are in life, what their prospects are for achieving their goals and where they fall short-and still go forward.

失敗者總是欺騙――不承認(rèn)現(xiàn)實(shí)生活。我曾一度認(rèn)為那些習(xí)慣性不誠(chéng)實(shí)的人不可能成功。很遺憾,現(xiàn)在我深切的體會(huì)到,即使一個(gè)人對(duì)他人沒有一點(diǎn)真誠(chéng),他也是有可能成功的--至少在經(jīng)濟(jì)方面他是有這個(gè)可能的;但是那些自欺的人卻是絕對(duì)不可能成功的――他們不知道自己在生活的旅途中處于何方,不清楚實(shí)現(xiàn)目標(biāo)的機(jī)會(huì)何在,認(rèn)識(shí)不到自己的缺陷何在――認(rèn)識(shí)不到這一點(diǎn)卻還盲目前行。
